Everson Griffen brought some intensity and edge to the Detroit Lions as a pass rusher once he joined Detroit during the season. He’s keeping that same mentality going into the offseason.
Griffen, who will be a free agent, went off on his longtime old team, the Minnesota Vikings. In an unprovoked move, Griffen sounded off on Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and also the decision to build the offense around Cousins made by those higher up in the Vikings organization.
Griffen later deleted the tweets but not before several people (h/t @DatGirlFriday) took screen captures of the mini-tirade. He then offered a public apology to Cousins, who has yet to respond to any of it.
Many Vikings fans have been trying to lure Griffen back to Minnesota, which sorely missed his aggressive attitude and ability to disrupt the passing game in 2020.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — It's still early yet, but Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is currently having possibly the worst season of his career. As a result, many Vikings fans are already urging the team to 'tank' so they can get the best draft pick possible next year and select a new quarterback.
However, it's important to remember that the team has invested a lot of money into Cousins.
The Kirk Cousins contract
In March, the Vikings and Cousins agreed to a two years, $66 million extension. The 32-year-old quarterback was on the last year of his original contract with the team before the deal was done.
In total, Cousins now has a $96 million deal with the team, with $61 million of that guarantee, ESPN reports. The deal becomes fully guaranteed in 2021.

In otherwords, unless the Vikings cut him, Cousins will be in Minnesota through 2022.
Cousins led the Vikings to a 10-6 record last season. Minnesota defeated the New Orleans Saints in overtime during the wildcard round of the playoffs.
The Vikings lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.
This season, Cousins is performing much worse. He's thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. The Vikings were 1-4 heading into Sunday's home game against the Atlanta Falcons (0-5).

As of halftime, the Vikings trail the Falcons, 20-0. Cousins has thrown two interceptions, including his first throw of the game.
